Are you eating well & feeling healthy?


I love this picture above. What I see here is a coming together to eat yummy, healthy wholefoods and the celebration of that. Sharing with your community, your family, your friends breeds a sense of belonging and a mindset of happiness and calm. A mindset that helps you make the right choices when it comes to what food we are putting into our body and the reasons behind it all.


Do you stop and look at what you're eating and know the health benefits of these foods? This is something I have taken my time to do, and I've established what foods will be my saviour and which foods I must choose wisely. My love for carbohydrate rich foods, sweets and wine were not my friends. I have not said goodbye to them totally, instead I choose carefully about when I consume them and I source only organic and unrefined products. I tell you, when I do eat them, I really really enjoy every mouthful.


Carbohydrate rich snacks would not help me keep a manageable weight. Sugar would make me feel dreadful and wine would make my eyes go puffy and itchy and leave a feeling of gloom over me the next few days. Ignore it because I love these? I did for a long time but not anymore. Once I learned the act of self-care and self-love, I then understood that what I was doing was not helping me at all. I was actually entrenched in a series of really unhealthy habits and ones I really did not want to give up.


Working through all the resources I have in my Wellness Toolkit has helped me discover what I really want in life... my health, my wellness inside and out and most of all my ability to age well with agility and the absense of any chronic disease. So much so, that I now only have a wine on the weekends (and I only have 1 standard drink at a time), I am not eating bread (less bloating) and if I do it is an organic sourdough rye or similar and my chocolate is organic, dark and full of richness. I now see these as real treats and I don't feel guilty one little bit when I have them. I now understand why I don't need these as much in my life and this has led me to eating a plant based diet that gives me plenty of fibre, antioxidants, and all the vitamins and minerals I need and especially a radiance that I am loving!


I encourage you to find out more about what you are eating and drinking... find out what is going to be your saviour and what could be your downfall.
