Crispy Sticky Tofu

This is a really yummy recipe. My Pez wouldn't eat tofu at all... but after I introduced this recipe to him let's just say he's asking me to make it! I've adapted it from a recipe I found online...

Ingredients:

Firm Tofu 300-400g

Cornflour (about a 1/4 cup)

2 tbspn Olive oil

1 tspn Sesame oil

2 tbspn Tamari

1 tspn rice wine vinegar

1 tspn Honey/Sugar

1 tspn chopped or minced garlic

Chilli (optional)

Garnish: sesame seeds, spring onions, coriander

Method:

Place the tofu between some paper towel to absorb as much of the liquid as possible.

Place the cornflour into a bowl. Chop the tofu into about 4cm squares (this makes the tofu easy to handle in the pan), and coat it in the bowl of cornflour. Meanwhile mix the tamari, vinegar, honey and garlic and set aside.

Heat a pan on medium heat with olive and sesame oil and lightly fry the tofu until all golden. Add the tamari sauce and combine thoroughly in the pan to coat the tofu.

Serve with the garnish of sesame seeds, spring onions and coriander.

Bon Appetite!
