Wow! Did you know that when you get a temperature it is your body's natural defence to killing off virus' in your body by creating a hotter than normal environment. Coughing gets rid of mucus that forms and a runny nose as well is a defence mechanism as well to get rid of those germs that are infecting our body. I love how our bodies are always trying to look out for us.

I do a lot of reading so when it comes to health and prevention I'm all for it.
Here's some remedy tips to see you right this coming season.
Eat foods that will help your battle. These include bananas (help settle an upset tummy), blueberries (Vit C), carrots, chilli (help to open sinus'), mustard (may break up mucus), onions, black and green tea (natural antibiotic)
Garlic has been shown to boost the immune system
Vitamin C can help to shorten the length of an illness
Chicken Soup is included along with other hot liquids as these can help to soothe and relieve congestion
Zinc taken during the first few days of your cold can help to shorten it's duration
Menthol ointments relieve congestion and coughing
Saltwater Gargle can help to soothe and moisten a sore throat
Saltwater Nasal Spray can help ease congestion and flush those germs out
Bed Rest is so important as it allows your body to put all if it's energy into fighting your cold
Know how to treat your symptoms and blow your nose often as this is what will help to rid your body of the unwanted infection and not sniff it back up into your head
“Getting sick is no-body's cup of tea but there are ways to help support your immune system before, during and after.”
Using salves around your sore nostrils, taking a steamy shower/bath to help open up airway passages and try sleeping with that extra pillow to prop you up for easier congestion flow. And as much as we love all our family and friends.... keep it to yourself is a wonderful idea by staying home, covering your cough and sneezes and now's a great time to really get that hand washing hygeine happening.
