Get off the JUNK!!

We have to get to some point in our life where we realise that the consumption of ultra-processed foods do not serve us well. When I say 'ultra-processed' I mean foods and drinks that are in packaging that have had additives to preserve their shelf life, refined flour, sugar, all natural foods that have been altered in some way. Do you know what damage these do to your beautiful bodily organs? I know they are on the shelves for us to purchase to ease our meal prepping and for quick fixes when we are hungry. They're bright and colourful to draw our attention in... These foods place a toxic load on our systems which at some point our bodies will get tired of constantly fixing up the mess we're creating.


Going through menopause has made me more aware than ever of finding out what is happening to my body and what I can do to get through and live a healthy rest of my life. Eating a wholefood plant based diet has really helped me. We want to get our metabolic health in order which means we want no toxic foods/drinks, toxic products, toxic relationships and no toxic environments!


So how can we start to lessen our toxic load?


Let's include more walks and exercising in nature. Let's be more conscious of the nutrition we are gaining from our food and beverages ie; purchase as little packaged food as you can, set a challenge for yourself to cut more out each week. Let's try some restorative practices like meditation or yoga. Let's get our sleep routine in tip top shape and let's start hanging out in relationships that fulfill us with love and warmth and laughter.
