When I talk to people I quite often hear of health issues they are dealing with and that test results show nothing (so frustrating) and they don’t know what to do…they continue on with their current lifestyle unsure of what can be done in regards to the education and support they can access on their path to feeling happier and healthier. In the long run let's get out of the rut we find ourselves in and make some changes to what we have been doing. It might just help! Change is the hardest thing anyone will ever do, believe me.
So how do we live a ‘NO EXCUSE’ lifestyle?
Small changes are the key to your new lifestyle actually hanging around for the rest of your life. Here’s my tips…
Start by adding in foods that nourish your insides - imagine the food you’re eating going into your mouth and into your stomach and then what it is doing from there. How is it nourishing your body? Do some reading and research about what the benefits are for you. Feed your body what it deserves to work well for you. It will reward you with feeling better inside and out.
Treat your body well and with love and believe this every single day. Say “I love you” into the mirror every morning until you really do start to believe it. Small 10 minute guided meditation sessions work wonders here in helping you to create a more mindful outlook.
You must move your body every day. Find movement that you actually love to do and some that you know you must do. As we age we are not ‘working out’ to look good anymore but to keep our skeleton and muscles in tip top condition to carry us with strength and confidence to help prevent falls and fractures and for our bodily systems to function like a well oiled machine LOL.
A key factor to all of this is WHY? Why do you want to live a healthier lifestyle? Do you want to have a hassle free, healthy and happy rest of your life? Manage your ailments with ease and still enjoy the finer things? Run around with the grand children? Still hang out at the beach? There are many things but what is unique to you will be your motivator. Small changes are the best way to start and in turn you will wake with purpose and feel empowered to make that changes needed. You'll start to feel in control of your health and wellness.
