Wellness done properly...

If your wellness is done properly there is no timeline…

This means that you no longer have to diet for certain lengths of time eg; let’s lose 10kg for this wedding I’m going to, or I’ll follow a diet for 8 weeks to get ready for summer. If your diet is not sustainable after you have achieved what you want, then you’ll go back to what you know and then you’ll end up to where you were. So frustrating right?

Working out what is right for you and your body is an important step. Actually, getting to know what you want, who you want to be and understanding your body and your health needs. You’ll soon be able to discover the how of getting where you want to be and to feeling amazing. You’ll create a lifestyle that will last a lifetime and you won’t need to constantly juggle the ups and downs of dieting. The components of a healthy lifestyle are nutrition, movement, rest, mindfulness, mental health, happiness and I’m sure you can add your own in there too.

Doing wellness properly takes some soul searching and is not a quick fix by any means. It’s taken me a couple of years to reach a daily practice that has set me up to live my best life. First the discovery of why you want to be healthy is an important step. This can be anything from eating more nourishing food, drinking less alcohol, eating less take away foods, getting better sleep at night, feeling more alert and brighter…

For me I was drinking too much wine and years of bad habits just had me reaching for that glass every day even though I knew that it wasn’t a good habit to have. I can’t believe that I woke up every day feeling a little dusty and just headed off to work and accepted this as the norm. I am so proud of the work I’ve done to respect my body and have learned the effects of what alcohol does to the body. I now can enjoy a glass on the weekend and that is it… I don’t reach for anymore. I also learned about what nutrition I would need heading into my latter years. I want preventative measures to set me straight on the path to wellness as I age. I know I didn’t want to have to look after my illness when and if it arises and to be honest, I don’t want to take a chance to see if I would end up with a chronic illness.

So, a huge take away here is to find out WHY you want wellness in your life and then come and make a call to get some coaching as to WHAT happens next and HOW we set this in motion. Doing wellness properly will be a lifestyle you’ll really enjoy because you’ve created it and you know the reasons why you’ve done it and it’s yours and yours alone!
